♡ jirai kei & ryosangata makeup tutorial ! | my everyday girly routine ♡

 Hello everybun…!♡

For todays post, I thought it’d be fun to share a little tutorial on my daily makeup. This type of makeup could also be worn for jirai kei or ryosangata type styles, and is my favourite makeup style to do…! it’s so fun and gives you such a doll-like and girly look♡ I’ve also included some links for purchasing the products mentioned, as well as hair styling tips at the end~♪

what is Ryosangata and Jirai-kei makeup?

The term ‘Ryosangata’ is a romanised version of 量産型, which literally translates to ‘mass produced type’. This essentially describes someone who dresses according to what is popular and cute for young women in Japan, making the wearer look ‘mass produced’ because the girls who wear this style do appear quite similar…! Ryosangata style makeup is, to put it quite simply, makeup that follows such trends. This style of makeup places an emphasis on sweet, pastel colours, eye enlarging contacts, defined tear bags that are known as namidabukuro and an overall sweet and innocent appearance. Ryosangata style makeup uses almost exclusively natural colours, such as baby pink, brown and pastel grey♡

Jirai-kei (地雷系) makeup, in comparison, tends to feature a darker colour palette, where gradient red lips and darker accents are more common. Main colours typically include purple, black, dark brown, grey and red, and, just like Ryosangata type makeup, there is an emphasis on eye enlarging contacts, defined tear bags, and an overall doll-like, cute and girly look~♪

I think the two makeup styles can be seen illustrated perfectly by the image above, which I took whilst shopping in Harajuku for cute contact lenses!♡ The heart shaped bubble reads ‘which one are you?’ with adorable illustrations of a jirai girl (left) and ryosangata girl (right). I ended up buying some of the bambi series contact lenses, and was really happy with how they looked…!~♪

Popular ryosangata and jirai-kei cosme brands

As the goal of ryosangata makeup is to follow cute current trends, it is a good idea to try and purchase products from some of the cutest leading makeup companies in Japan. You don’t necessarily need to only use products from these brands, but following them can be helpful for achieving this look. Here are a few of my favourite ryosangata type brands and links for how you can buy them outside of Japan…!♡

 Ryosangata & Jirai-kei makeup tutorial 

Base cosme

For my base cosmetics, I'm using a light moisturiser and then a high spf sunscreen from canmake. This sunscreen also acts as a primer, and feels so relaxing and cooling on your skin~ Next, I've applied a light pink base colour by Sana, and Dior concealer under my eyes, nose and chin to blur out my dark circles and pores a little. I love this concealer, as they have quite a good variety of shades…! I use the shade 00, which is perfect for those with pale skin. I like to blend concealer with a small round brush (like this one from Jill Stuart !) so that the application is more precise♡

For the blush, I've really been loving this shade of ‘lollipop pink’ by canmake~ The cool toned pale pink is so flattering for my skin type, and looks really cute with this style of makeup! I like to apply my blush in a circular pattern, towards the outer corners of my face. After applying blush, I then apply a little contour on the outer corners of my face. For contour, I just use a pale toned brown eyeshadow and blend~ Once the contour is done, I seal the makeup in place with this beautiful powder pact by Dior…! This pact has been very popular on instagram for ryosangata girls, and i can see why; it gives your skin such a beautiful, soft glow♡

Eye cosme

For the most important part of the makeup, I am wearing these ‘almond’ coloured contacts from the Angelcolour brand~♪ This is a popular lenses brand for ryosangata style makeup, they had a super cute display in Harajuku when i visited...!♡ the colour of the lens I'm wearing is ‘almond’, with a diameter of 14.4.  I like to start by drawing on my eyebrows. having very light, soft looking eyebrows makes the face appear more cute and doll-like, and is a staple in ryosangata makeup. I prefer to shave my own eyebrows off and draw them in a shape that is higher up on my face, making my eyes appear bigger and softer~ it might seem a little extreme, but this makes such a difference to the overall look, so I'd actually recommend it...!♡

For mascara and liner, heroine make is my absolute favourite. The liner has such a fine tip, it's incredible!~♪ I apply a very small line that extends my eye shape, and droops slightly to give a softer and pien-like affect. Next, I've followed along my tear line to emphasise them, without drawing this line too heavily. After the liner, I apply heroine make mascara and separate the lashes with tweezers to make sure they aren’t sticking together. Be careful not to over-apply mascara, as that can also make the lashes look a little too clumpy~

Once the liner is done, I then move on to eyeshadow! I start off by applying a light sparkly white shadow by Jill Stuart to my upper lids, keeping this area of the eye quite simple. Next, I take a light brown shadow from the same palette and use it to contour the tear bags and natural shape above my eye. When drawing tear bags, I prefer to use an angled brush for accuracy, and to prevent as many mistakes~ For a sparkly under eye, I start off with a base of canmake soufflé eyes palette lightest shade, and cover it with Jill Stuart lightest shade in this palette. Next, i apply a pretty sparkly white eye glitter…!♡ The one i’m currently using is by canmake and is so cute To achieve a glittery look, I like to layer my glitters quite a bit, and focus on applying glitter to the centre and inner corner of my eyes.

Lip cosme

For the lips, I tend to keep the makeup quite simple and focus on making my lips glossy. A darker lip works really well for jirai type makeup, but my preference is more of a light colour as worn by most ryosangata girls~♪ I start by applying a nourishing lip balm by Jill Stuart, which has a little bit of a pink tint to it. ‘Next, I’ve just applied my Dior lip glow balm over the top for a little more colour, keeping towards the inner corners of my lip for a subtle gradient affect. Finally, I’ve applied my Dior lip gloss over the top to make the lips nice and shiny! In addition, i also like to use a small brush and apply a little concealer to the sides of my lip and Cupid’s bow, to make them more pronounced ♡

Ryosangata hair make: heatless curls

 

For the final part of the tutorial, I just wanted to share this easy hair tutorial with you from my twitter…!♡ To achieve this classic ryosangata hairstyle, I simply wear this silk hair piece overnight, and wrap my slightly damp hair around it. Because my hair is bleached and dyed, it really helps to have a heatless curling routine that ensures I have my favourite twin-drills every day, whilst keeping the hair soft and healthy Additionally, this hair-set is just so easy to do, and saves me a lot of time…! I couldn’t recommend it enough~♪

♡ Liz Lisa 2021 'Sweet Bear Gelato' & 'Chocolate Gateau' prints review ♡

 Good morning chocolate bears...!♡

After a few months hiatus due to struggling with tough events in my life, I finally got back to writing this post, and cannot wait to share a little review and try-on of Liz Lisa's newest prints for their summer and autumn collections, Sweet Bear Gelato and Chocolate Gateau...!~♪ Both prints feature an adorable dessert, ribbon and bear theme, but with different colour palettes and an adorable attention to detail. The bear designs are also quite different on each print, so I'm very excited to talk about the differences in style and my thoughts on them...꒰⑅ˊ͈ ˙̫ ˋ͈⑅꒱

Sweet Bear Gelato skirt ♡ Pink colourway

This print was so, so exciting to see, as I absolutely adore parfait designs (hence, my insta handle...) as well as this shade of pink being an all time favourite of mine...!♡

For this print, I decided to choose the skirt♡ This was primarily because I intend to wear this in all types of weather, especially in winter with cosy pink jumpers as it's just too cute for one season! ꒰｡ › ·̮ ‹ ｡꒱ 

The parfait and ice cream illustrations are just so dreamy cute! Heart shaped strawberries, chocolate and sprinkles adorn the bear shaped ice cream, with delicate cherry, biscuit and peach details. The little bear eating her pink (also bear!) shape ice cream even has little heart shaped paws and a pink bow, so so adorable...!~♪

I adore how many types of ice cream there are! The mason jar is such a cute idea, but the classic cone is also so beautiful. Looking at this print makes you wonder if it's meant to be a window display, or perhaps a table spread?꒰´꒳`∗꒱

This print also features one of my favourite lace details, with little hearts that match the buttons! I'm also obsessed with the soft underskirt, it's so comfy and pretty...♡

I also absolutely adore the pink gingham background print, especially with the sweet heart and ribbon embellishments~♪ Pink, purple and white flowers adorn the bottom of the skirt, giving the print a summery look ꒰´꒳`∗꒱ 

I also thought I'd share the first code I put together with this piece!

This code was so much fun to put together, although I'd love to coordinate this print with ribbon accessories and a more ornate blouse for an even girlier look. Regardless, it's still fun to experiment combining different pieces, and finding versatile ways to wear them!~♪

Another code that i put together included the same skirt with irregular choice x Sanrio little twin stars shoes, a pink Liz Lisa jumper and my melody hair ties…! This was a little more experimental, but i liked how the colours looked together ♡

The second print that I am absolutely in love with is Chocolat Gateau (or, as I call it, Liz Lisa’s chocolate bear print!) For this piece, I chose the one piece as the ruffles and centrepiece ribbon looked so cute~♪

The background of the dress is actually little pink chocolate squares, which looks so cute and unique! I really love how creative Liz Lisa were with this print ♡ The words ‘romantic’, ‘chocolate’ and ‘sweet’ are also scattered across the print in chocolate coloured font, with little hearts, roses and chocolate covered strawberries! How delectable… 

And of course, the light pink ribbon is adorable…! ꒰´꒳`∗꒱ I also wanted to point out that the gold heart buttons also have a chocolate pattern on them, which is so perfect. The collar of the dress also has this beautiful ruffle detail, which gives it such a cute and indulgent feel. 

One of the loveliest details of the dress is the collection of sweet treats featured at the bottom of the dress. Chocolates, cupcakes, strawberries and of course chocolate gateau cake…!♡

The teddies featured on the print have an adorable vintage look to them, and look a lot like Steiff bears to me. The same golden ‘LL’ pendant adorned across the ribbon is also on the bear’s ribbon, which just looks too cute ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡

And as always, Liz Lisa made sure to include adorable details to the sleeves by adding this precious pink ribbon and rose lace…! Even as someone who prefers longer sleeves, I can’t help but love the girly and sweet look that these puff sleeves give the dress~♪

For my coordinate with this dress, I didn’t really incorporate many bear themes other than the phone case, but instead just included accessories i loved and felt like wearing that day! Sometimes it’s easy to think you have to make everything match perfectly in order for a coordinate to be cohesive, but honestly it’s a lot more fun to just wear the pieces you feel happiest in…!♡ I adored wearing this print with my melo and pink accessories ꒰ •͈́ ̫ •͈̀ ꒱

Although I can’t say when my next post will be, I just wanted to thank everyone who has sent such kind messages and been so supportive of me during this time. Although living without my baby Arthur is painful, and my mental/physical health is not the best, I’m more determined than ever to keep moving forward, trying to focus on the positive and helping those around me who are also dealing with difficult situations. Things can (and will!) get better.

♡ A look at Larme 047 & Péche 001...!♡

Good Morning sweet petals!♡

    Today I am so excited to share with you photos of the latest LARME magazine, and their new series, Péche!

Since the last issue, LARME have introduced so many beautiful new models to their magazine, such as Nagisa-chan from =LOVE and Arin-chan of Momoclo! LARME's cover features a beautiful shot of Arin-chan, whilst Péche features the lovely Kirara-chan. 

 

I was happy with this magazine spread, as I had a lovely Lola's cupcake to enjoy after taking these photos! I feel that (although it was not peach flavoured) hopefully it fitted the cute and girly theme♡

I also tried using Liz Lisa's My Melody 2018 Collab print  as a background, and I think it worked well..! This print is so special to me. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

There is quite a lot to cover in these two magazines, so I'll try my best to include all the cute and new points...! Starting with LARME....♡

The concept for this issue was the false persona/self (偽りの自分)  we can exhibit, and loving your true self. I really love this authentic take that LARME are trying to go for, as I also feel that the best we can be is our own lovely, unique person. 

The first spread, 'All About Baby Makeup', features LARME's cosme and skincare choices for a youthful and cute look. I found some of the styling to be a little strange (Aya-chan's clothing choice is lovely, but the pacifier? perhaps a little excessive), but the jellycat bunny plush made me so happy as I actually used to collect those as a child, and treasure them dearly.꒰⑅ˊ͈ ˙̫ ˋ͈⑅꒱

I've seen this Canmake 'Creamy touch eyeliner' quite frequently on my insta the past couple months!♡ The recommended cosme seems very cute and on trend♡

This issue also features some promotional photos for Péche! ♡

And the best cosme award for the end of 2020, another trend that influencers/cosme enthusiasts seem to follow...! I found this quite helpful, especially including a variety of lipglosses/glosses/tints.♡

Skincare awards! I'm not such a fan of some of these brands (they can be quite harsh for dry skin) but I was interested in seeing the face cream recommendation ♪

As well as hairstyling and code ideas, Na's beauty spread also includes more winter skincare recommendations...! (pictured later on in this post) I really love how they included more information about the models, such as their favourite video games, hobbies and just generally random trivia♡ It makes me happy that they are comfortable to be true to themselves, and talk about games like Splatoon or COD whilst wearing adorable clothes  (ó ꒳ ò✿)

Another part of LARME 047 that I adore is the format for these cosme tutorials!♡ It's so easy to follow a step by step process like this, and I especially liked Risa-chan's makeup style.

I absolutely loved the sisters theme shoot that they included in this issue. These simple and light floral dresses are stunning!♬

One of my favourite themes of this issue was getting to know the models better!♡ Not only does this spread talk about Hina-chan and Raimu-chan's favourite games (yes, featuring The Last of us !) it also features a little info in the top left about what they've achieved in 2020! I was surprised that both models were not a fan of karaoke, but honestly if I had the choice between that or playing 'Sabage' (which I believe is the Japanese name for paintballing...?) I'd go with the latter, as like Hina-chan says, you feel like you're actually in a game....! ♪

As Nagisa-chan of =LOVE has just started modelling for LARME, there were of course a lot of adorable photos of her!♡ I love the cheerleader and maid outfits so much♪

One of my favourite pages at the end of LARME 047 is the little map of Kabukicho ! ♪ It was a cute idea to show what the models tips and recommendations for this visiting this part of Shinjuku are. Hikaru-chan's recommendation of Cool Beans Cafe, which serves rose tapioca sounds so lovely, especially if its not very crowded! 

I'm also very curious about the porridge shop Mell-chan recommends (Otsu Porridge) that is open 24/7, 7 days a week? I would love to try it too! ꒰✩’ω`ૢ✩꒱

After a look at LARME 047, lets see what the first issue of Péche is like...♡

(cw for lingerie photos that are a little provocative but super cute!)

Péche's covergirl is Kirara-chan, who looks so stunning here! I adore the pink upside down heart (or, peach) used to create the cover image. The concept for this issue is a powerful woman who is born from a peach (almost identical to the story of Momotarō) except, the pretty girl is named Péche!♪

I felt that this concept was so unique, and also empowering. Viewing oneself as a gift from God might be a little challenging, but it certainly doesn't feel far fetched when paired with Mirai-chan wearing this baby blue set from LARME Lingerie, which is absolutely divine...!♪

I also adored the cosme for this issue; warm brown hues and shimmery products are so, so perfect... (and the hair setup is so airy and light!♡)

I also adored this spread! eating cute foods wearing beautiful lingerie honestly sounds like every romantic girl's dream, and although Péche writes 'happy, angry, sad, laughing' I feel like I'd just be happy...!♪

A lot of the lingerie featured here is also from well known brand 'Intimissi, and later on, 'Agent Provocateur'! I was a little sad that some of the other pieces were just the stylists belongings, but will have to keep an eye out for these beautiful pieces next time shops are open♡

Péche also made sure to cover the cosme trend of Chinese makeup brands! How beautiful do they look? I'm especially interested in the FlowerKnows pieces, as they seem to be so girly and magical, especially the palette...♡

And finally, there is a spread on Gender that I had to include...!♪ As well as mentioning the gender free concept that others have been applying to fashion, the discussion about what is expected of women in society was interesting to read. It saddens me that there is this pressure to avoid politics as a woman, and get married soon to please the parents (as well as earning less than men, so having to get married for this reason...), but it makes me happy that this is changing, as more women can become successful. And I couldn't agree more that we should aim to create an environment where the voices of everyone matter equally!
